Just one more week left in February and it’s time for another weekly review. This week has seen Greece finally strike a deal to prevent a Eurozone crisis for at least another four months. Russian rebels seized more of eastern Ukraine despite a ceasefire. Inflation also fell to an all time low of 0.3%. After a busy week in the world, it’s time to look back at the posts published on DGB this week.

Summary

The week began with an observational post about what appears to be a growing trend in big glass. Over the past 6 months I have noticed a definite trend with customers and their need to maximise the glass in their window openings. After going to social media to ask the opinions of others, it appears that indeed it is a growing trend.

Summary

With the General Election quickly approaching, I thought it was time to explore the idea of what sort of impact the election might have on the economic mood. For me, it could derail it completely. With the prospect of another coalition government, homeowners and markets might start to think twice about spending.

Summary

It was back to a positive mood in the next post as I took a look at Spring and considered that it was quite possile this coming Spring could prove to be a bumper season, just before the election goes ahead and spoils it for everyone. I do feel genuinely positive about the next few months. It’s the few months after that that might be the problem!

Summary

One of the most shared posts on social media this week was my post about fabricators and their ability to find the bad eggs of the industry before they manage to do any damage to them and the homeowner. Some people agreed with me, and some, like Patrick from Truframe, sat very much on the other side of the fence. However, it did raise an important issue about improving the industry, which inspired the last post of the working week on DGB.

Summary

Of all the post I thought might get some reaction, it should have been this one. PVC in conservation areas has traditionally been an issue that has got many hot under the collar. But not this time. Judging by the number of shares on social media, it appears that this really didn’t get any motors running!

Summary

Nice and easy this one. An announcement that Window Ware, the hardware stockist of pretty much everything, are joining DGB for the next 12 months!

Summary

Following my announcement of a new sponsor on DGB, Window Ware followed up with their first sponsored content showing off their very polished and professional range of video explainers and tutorials.

Summary

Finally, the last post of the week, inspired by a comment on a post a couple of days before, this was the most shared post on social media this week and definitely the one that got people talking the most. This was the idea from Garry at St Johns Windows that in order for installers to get their products from the suppliers, they will need to produce their FENSA/Certass etc certificate and registration number. This was definitely worth a read!
