Job Position: Area Sales Manager South West

Job Description:

Exciting Area Sales Manager position in the South West of England with one of the UK’s leading suppliers of window and door hardware and mechanical ventilation systems.

Duties and responsibilities

• Increasing the turnover of the extensive product range including tilt and turn hardware, sliding door hardware, electro-mechanical products and mechanical ventilation systems
• Working in partnership with existing distributors to gain new business, demonstrating the latest technology of window and door hardware systems
• Working with testing houses and systems companies to gain accreditation
• Liaising with architects and specifiers to ensure product compatibility and developing good working relationships
• Ensure sales and margin targets are met and exceeded where possible
• To ensure territory is managed to meet existing and potential new customers through effective area planning to maximise call rate
• Regularly review and analyse customer activity to maximise range of products sold
• Ensure information is communicated back to the business to ensure customer expectations are met
• Prioritise product requirements where required to meet customer needs
• Provide forecasts to the business for budget and stock purposes.
• Deliver an annual sales action plan and monthly reports
• Actively seek new business opportunities in line with the overall sales plan.
• There will be occasional requirement to train customers

Required skills and experience

• Previous ‘window and door’ industry experience in an Area Sales Manager role preferable, but specific hardware knowledge not essential.
• A level of technical competence in the product will be required and training will be provided to achieve this.
• IT literate and experienced in Microsoft Office software specifically excel
• Have a rounded understanding of sales process
• Strong organisational and communication skills particularly written and verbal
• Excellent commercial awareness
• Able to self-motivate, and a mindset to overcome obstacles; able to meet deadlines
• Be persistent and effective
• Ability to develop strong business relationships

The successful applicant will report to the General Manager and will work closely with the technical and customer services teams.
