DGB Launches DGB Events

DGB Launches DGB Events

I mentioned at the very start of the New Year that I would be introducing three new features to DGB: DGB Event, DGB Directory and DGB Stocks. Well, one of them is here and it’s DGB Event.

Now, it’s still in BETA stage at the moment, tech word for development. But it is live, so here’s the run down of this new service.

About DGB Events

My aim with this new part of the website is for it to become the most detailed and up to date events calendar for the window and door industry. There are only one or two events pages on other sites right now, but they are either rarely updated, sparse, or lacking in detail on the individual listings. So with DGB Events I intend to build my own, and attempt to make it the best version out there.

You can check out DGB Events here

You can check out the current live events that I have used as opening examples here:

UK Construction Week

October 9 @ 10:00 am - October 11 @ 5:00 pm

If you click on each of the events you will be taken to it’s own dedicated page, giving you the date, location, time and a description of the event. You’ll also be able to see ticket information and whether it’s a free-to-attend event, or if you’e going to have to put your hand in your pocket. There’s a handy map and you can pin it to your Google Calendar just in case you think you might forget. You’ll also be able to find out who the organiser is, go to their website, or you can jump straight to the event website as well.

As I mentioned above, I intend for this to be the most detailed events calendar on any UK window and door website. There’s even more that I could add, but during this BETA stage I’ll keep with these options for now, and build as I see fit.

Add your event

To help make this the best events resource for the window and door industry, I am encouraging you to send in your own events. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a private event for employees, an event where others in the industry are encouraged to attend, awards, exhibitions or anything in between. This is your place to get that little bit of extra free publicity. All I need you do to is to email me your event information to [email protected]

Be sure to include as much information as possible, as well as the obvious. Location, date, time, costs involved, contact details etc. The more you give me the better. As soon as I have the email, I can start putting together your event listing.

Moving forwards, I will be adding many more events in the coming days. I shall be scouring online to discover events that matter to the window and door industry and will be adding them to DGB Events. So although you only see a couple right now, this will quickly expand.

As for the other two services, they are making progress. The DGB Directory is planned, I just need to put the various parts into place. When it comes to DGB Stocks, I am currently researching which WordPress plugins for stocks and share prices are best for what I need. There are a number out there, but some have limited features, and I’ll be needing one that ticks quite a lot of boxes for me. All being well I should have the two other parts of the site up and running within the next four weeks.

As always, I welcome the feedback, so please leave your thoughts and suggestions via the comments section below.
