Long-standing Halo fabricator Aztec Windows (Coventry) Ltd is set to launch a range of new products as part of their Prestige Collection® Timber Alternative range.
The first product is to be the new Prestige Lipped Casement. “As a fabricator/installer who serve the trade and general public we constantly get feedback on our product offering” explains Michael Hagan. “One thing we have found is that not everyone likes flush casements. Our Prestige flush casement has been on the market since 2013 and while system houses, fabricators and installers seem to be flooding the market with their own flush casement in competition, we’ve had time to design something new as well as fine-tune our own flush.”
“One thing that we’ve found everybody likes is the square timber look joints, so we developed our normal fully sculptured system to use the Timberweld® jointing system to give us timber look joints. The resulting corner joint instantly changes the look and feel of our standard window to something special. The two windows will complement each other and give those customers that want a timber alternative window a choice of flush or lipped, something that is only available from a very small number of fabricators.
Once we had developed the joint, getting it strong enough was our first priority. After trialling a few different methods we hit the jackpot and racked up a 17.8Kn (could not break) on the weld test machine at VEKA’s in house testing facility. This is about 3-4 times what is expected of a PVC window sash.
The introduction of the Prestige lipped casement will bring our timber alternative product offering up to three. Flush, Lipped and composite doors. Over the following 6 months, we have an additional four products including a new door that we will be launching increasing our product portfolio and giving our customers a serious advantage over the rest of the market. We see the timber alternative market as a serious growth area within the fenestration sector and are aiming straight to the top.
