A very happy New Year to you all!

That’s it. 2018 is done and I think most of us will breathe a sigh of relief. Describing the last 12 months across all spheres of life as crazy would seem a bit of an understatement. I think we’re all hoping for a calmer, more serene 12 months going forwards, but I think we all know that’s a long shot as well!

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas and general festive period and rang in the New Year in style. As you’ve seen I have been a little bit quiet on here since we broke up at work. It’s been a very long year and it was nice to be able to put everything work related away for a short while and do something else other than talk about windows and doors!

That being said, I am feeling more refreshed, despite suffering from a pretty crappy cold from Christmas Day onwards, and feel ready to hit 2019 running. I’m not going to use this post to set out my plans and targets for DGB and my other projects. It’s still New Years Day after all and I can guarantee you I will be hungover with a lot of you out there.

Normal service will however resume from January 2nd/3rd as I know that this is when a good chunk of the industry will be back at work. Although I have seen some of you aren’t reopening until January 7th!

This time off has allowed me to rest the brain and get the creative juices going again. Content ideas are once again flowing. I feel ready to tackle some of the smaller DGB projects I have in the background again. Writing something fresh nearly every day for a year takes it’s creative toll, which is why I tend to flag at the end of years. But I’m fighting fit again on that front.

I want to thank every single reader who has visited DGB in 2018. Your visits capped an absolute belter of a year for this website and have built an immense platform to bring the industry an even better service in 2019. I want to thank also all of my advertisers and sponsors (who you can see neatly down the right hand side) who allow me to make a living doing something that I genuinely enjoy. It’s a special position to be in and I truly appreciate all your continued support.

So, I think I’ll leave it there. Nothing too heavy to read during your first hangover of the year. Take your paracetamol, drink plenty of tea, coffee and orange juice and get yourself ship shape for what I’m sure will be just as busy a year!

Happy New Year to you all once again!
