It is being reported in the Devon Live website that Exeter-based Four Seasons Home Improvements has entered into administration. A statement on the Four Seasons Home Improvements website states:

MOST RECOMMENDED LTD T/A FOUR SEASONS HOME IMPROVEMENTS ENTERED INTO LEGAL ADMINISTRATION ON 16/5/2019 ALL ENQUIRIES TO   CLIVE FORTIS AT ANTHONY BATTY & COMPANY LLP LONDON WC1R 5EF TEL:     020 7831 1234 MOBILE: 07720 983 668 CLIVE@ANTONYBATTY.COM WWW.ANTONYBATTY.COM

The concern for home owners now is whether any deposits placed can be salvaged via the administration. After a relatively quiet period in terms of industry administrations, this is a sign that trading conditions remain choppy out there.

Rapid growth

Devon Live reports that after covering their expansion in June 2018, they had gone from a standing start to a near £9m business. For any company that is some seriously rapid growth.

Now, with the company in administration, it is unclear as to whether or not customers who have paid deposits will manage to get them repaid. Remember also that it’s not only home owners on the sharp end of something like this, suppliers to the company will also be asking questions of the administrators to see what can be done about any outstanding monies owed.

This is a reminder that the economic environment remains choppy at best out there. Regionally there are huge variations in the fortunes of our businesses. Some are doing well, some are struggling. With everything that is going on outside the sector, we can all but hope for the outlook to remain as steady as possible, in the face of huge upheaval in other spheres.
