My client is one of the country’s most successful glazing companies who supply and install uPVC, aluminium window, door and curtain walling systems. They work with construction partners on developments in a number of sectors, on projects including retail, private development, modular buildings, student accommodation, MoD accommodation, and healthcare and educational establishments, working across projects of up to £6million across various sectors.
As Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, responsibilities and duties will include: • Collate the cost of the different materials needed for the project. • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities and other documentation. • Track changes to the design and/or construction work and adjusting budget projections accordingly. • Procure or agree the services of contractors and/or subcontractors who work on the construction of the project. • Measure and value the work done on site. • Pay subcontractors. • Liaise with the client and other construction professionals, such as site managers, project managers and site engineers. • Select and/or source construction materials. • Write financial reports on projects both individually and collectively.

Applicants must be educated to OND / HNC Level, have a minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar position and be experienced working within the construction or glazing industry. You must also be computer literate with good knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based applications. A full driving licence is a must as the role will require working from the office and occasional travelling to locations around the UK, some overnight stays may be required with this role.
