Due to unprecedented business growth, we now have an exciting opportunity for a metal fabricator to be based at our site in Garforth. Reporting to the factory manager, you will be responsible for the production and quality of customer orders, and the completion of orders on time.

You will have experience in the manufacture of sheet metal products, welding, folding and general metal fabrication skills. It would be advantageous if you also have experience in the use of modern fibre laser cutting machines and / or press brakes.

You must have the ability to understand engineering assembly drawings, have knowledge of basic fabrication techniques, and have experience of fabrication machine operation, process assembly and design. Skills and experience in MIG / TIG welding would also be advantageous.

Job description

Core Responsibilities

To understand technical engineering drawings in order fabricate sheet metal, commit work to laser cutters and press brakes, MIG welding and finishing to ensuring the highest quality on every customer order.

Responsible for the manufacture of core products using fabrication machinery and manual welding equipment

Be accountable for quality an accuracy of products manufactured and the timely delivery of customer orders

Responsible for the input to and passion for continuous improvement and product design

Ensuring the adherence to production plans and material order forecasting

Skills and Experience Requirements

A minimum of two years working within metal fabrication and sheet metal manufacturing environment, ideally with experience of modern fibre laser cutting machines

Experience in the operation of, press brakes, swagers, rollers and forming machines is advantageous

Ability to weld using MIG / TIG to a good level

The ability to work using their own initiative and to a high standard of finish

Good interpersonal and teamwork skills

A passion for quality and pride in what you do
