Huddersfield-based glass processor Dual Seal Glass Ltd has entered administration, bringing to an end more than three decades of trading under the company.
A notice published in The Gazette confirms that Sean Williams and Phil Deyes of Leonard Curtis were appointed as Joint Administrators on 29 June 2026, with the company now listed at Companies House as In Administration.
Founded in 1995, Dual Seal Glass established itself as one of the UK’s best-known processors of high-performance insulated glass units (IGUs), vision glass and insulated spandrel panels for the commercial construction market. Operating from its manufacturing facility in Huddersfield, the company supplied specialist glazing products to contractors and façade specialists across the UK.
The administration follows four years after the business was acquired by pan-European glass processing group Vandaglas. The transaction completed in February 2022, when Munich-based investment group AEQUITA purchased the company before integrating it into the Vandaglas network, marking the group’s first acquisition in the UK. The business continued to trade under the Dual Seal Glass name following the acquisition.
2023 accounts showed turnover growth but a significant trading loss
The company’s latest available statutory accounts, covering the year ended 31 December 2023, paint a mixed financial picture.
While revenue increased during the year, profitability deteriorated sharply.
The accounts show:
- Turnover in 2023 was £16.29 million
- The business recorded an operating loss of £1.25 million in 2023
- Loss before taxation amounted to £1.27 million.
A well-known name in commercial glazing
Dual Seal Glass built a strong reputation within the commercial glazing sector over more than 30 years, manufacturing insulated glass units and specialist glazing products for commercial developments throughout the UK.
The acquisition by Vandaglas in 2022 formed part of a wider strategy to establish a pan-European network of specialist glass processors, giving the group a manufacturing presence in the UK alongside operations across mainland Europe. At the time of the acquisition, the company was described as one of the UK’s leading independent glass processors and continued operating from its long-established Huddersfield headquarters.
Administration formally recorded
The Gazette notice records the appointment of the Joint Administrators on 29 June 2026, with Companies House now reflecting the company’s status as being in administration. No further details regarding the administration process have been disclosed within the statutory notice.
