The Job

Managing Director

Reporting to the Customade Group CEO, you will lead the development of the business with a focus on sustainable growth, profitability and operational excellence.

Core Responsibilities
• Full P&L responsibility for the £40m+ division
• Act as an engaged leader with the ability to inspire a high performance culture that drives positive changes and executes swiftly throughout all levels of the business.
• Drive consistent processes, policies and operational disciplines across the business
• Ensure operational performance expectations are met and exceeded in terms of sales, margin achievement and customer service.
• Set the strategic direction for the operational functions that will drive bottom line growth, whilst creating a robust and effective business
• Deliver the organisational structure, tools, operational performance data, measures and processes to support rapid execution and growth
• Establish, grow and incentivise an effective senior management team
• Ensure talent is identified and grown throughout the business
The Person
A proven successful leader of geographically dispersed businesses encompassing trade sales in the UK construction sectors with a strong customer focus.
Experienced in initiating and managing branch roll out and closures to maximise profitability.
You will be able to demonstrate a solid track record in growing sales in tough market environments whilst delivering meaningful operational improvements and efficiencies.
You must be substantially experienced in managing and motivating a UK wide management team with the ability to build and implement a successful and repeatable business model as the branch network grows.
You will have the ability to make sound commercial decisions with the strength, practical ability and confidence to see these through to successful conclusions.
Educated to degree level or equivalent, you must be highly numerate and articulate with extensive commercial acumen.
You must have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar level role
