Allegion has acquired Overly Door Company, adding a US manufacturer of specialist security doors to its portfolio following its purchases of British hardware businesses UAP and Brisant Secure in 2025.
Announced on 5 October 2026, the Overly acquisition expands Allegion’s offering for non-residential buildings. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Founded in 1888 and based in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Overly manufactures bespoke doors for applications requiring acoustic performance, blast protection, bullet resistance, and vault security. It supplies commercial and institutional customers, including the US government, education and healthcare sectors.
The business will become part of Allegion Americas, led by senior vice president Dave Ilardi. Overly leaders Tyler and Jonathan Reese will join Allegion to support the transition.
According to Allegion’s original press release, Overly complements its existing hollow metal door and frame range, allowing the group to specify and supply a wider selection of custom doors across its core non-residential markets.
Building on acquisitions in the British market
The Overly announcement follows two significant additions to Allegion’s British door hardware operations during August 2025.
Allegion announced its acquisition of UAP Group Limited on 4 August 2025. Founded in 1996 and based in Bury, UAP supplies residential door hardware and brought nearly 200 patents, trademarks and registered designs into the group.
UAP joined Allegion International, broadening the group’s residential offering alongside its established UK non-residential business. At the time, Allegion identified opportunities to expand the products available to their combined customers and support growth through complementary distribution channels and sales capabilities.
UAP chief executive David Jennings joined Allegion as part of the transaction to support the transition and development of the combined businesses. Financial terms were not disclosed in the announcement.
Just nine days later, on 13 August 2025, Allegion announced the acquisition of Brisant Secure.
Based in Dewsbury and founded in 2011, Brisant supplies residential security products, including mechanical and electronic locks and door accessories. Its Ultion brand is associated with high-security cylinders and key systems.
Brisant also joined Allegion International. Allegion described its products as complementary to both the group’s existing UK operations and the recently acquired UAP business. Brisant managing director Kevin Harvey joined Allegion to support integration and regional development. The transaction’s financial terms were not disclosed.
A broader position across doors and security hardware
Taken together, the acquisitions illustrate how Allegion is expanding across different parts of the door and security market. Overly adds specialist door manufacturing for demanding US commercial and institutional applications, while UAP and Brisant strengthen its position in British residential hardware.
For UK fenestration businesses, the direct connection is the ownership of suppliers serving the domestic door market. The Overly deal extends that wider group’s capabilities in specialist doors, while the two British acquisitions have brought residential hardware and locking expertise into the same international business.
The transactions therefore provide context for Allegion’s growing reach across both complete door products and the components used to secure them.
