Right then guys and girls, after a roaring start progress on my national average prices survey has slowed. So, I need a bit of pick up in the pace!

So far 22 of you have taken the couple of minutes it takes to fill the survey out, and for that I thank you. However, I have set myself a target of 100 installers to take part in this to make sure that the average prices this survey churns out are fairly accurate.

Now, I know that I have more than 100 installers and regular readers of this site so I just need 78 of you to take a couple of minutes to answer just 8 simple questions to help something that I think the industry could find quite interesting.

To give you an idea of the kind of answers that are coming in, here is an example:

Question 4. Based on a working average of 8 windows and 2 doors, what was your last price quoted for a house full of new windows and doors? This is based on white windows and standard composite/PVCu door. Allow for -/+1 window and -/+1 door if not exactly the average.

Highest answer given so far: £8500

Lowest answer given so far: £3300

This is current gap of a massive £5200. It is surveys like this which really do highlight the major differences in what we think we should be charging for our wares. And I’m sure it is going to create some talking points!

For this to be accurate, I need just 100 installers to take a couple of minutes out of their day to fill in these 8 short questions. As soon as we get there, I promise I’ll stop bugging you all with this!

Remember, answer them as accurate as possible to make sure the overall results are too!
