In my constant need to alter and fiddle with the way my site works, I have decided that it’s high time I gave my Related Sites page on here a great big overhaul. But if I’m going to have a page dedicated to the industry’s websites, it needs to be done right, and be a genuinely useful resource for those in the industry looking for other sites, or consumers wanting to find out a bit more about us and what is available.
So, this is what I plan to do:
- categorise sites between pages such as blogs and information resources
- get a wide spread between all the material types i.e. PVCu, timber, aluminium etc
- this ISN’T going to become a free place to advertise a website!
- simple contacts forms will be used to handle submissions
There won’t be a limit on the number of sites that can be on the Related Pages site. For anyone who is interested in submitting their site for use on that resource, all you have to do is fill in the contact form at the bottom of this post, or the contact form that is on the existing Related Pages. I want to stress that this isn’t going to be a resource to push a website for a purely advertising purpose. I will only be accepting blogs and websites that I see as genuine places of balanced views and information. I want to get as many information based sites on there as possible, as well as help get as many industry blogs on there too. I will be vetting each one before they are made live and I will be starting the page off with some of the more obvious sites we already know of.
I hope that I will be able to get resources from PVCu, timber, aluminium, steel and composite sections of the industry and help create a really useful go-to area of DGB when people want to find out more information.
So if you have an industry blog or you run an a site with information about the industry, then please feel free to fill in the contact form below and I’ll make your site live!
PS: the Related Sites page layout is going to change dramatically – it won’t look how it does currently for much longer.
