Solidor is standardising on ‘real life’ security with Ultion, Brisant Secure’s high security cylinder door lock. Ultion has been available as an upgrade cylinder from Solidor, but it will be as standard on all doors sold from January 1st 2016.

Solidor CEO Gareth Mobley explains: “Solidor’s hardwood laminated timber core is almost certainly the most secure composite door on the market, so it doesn’t make sense to sell it with a cylinder that is less secure.

“Ultion has released a series of new videos that shows how quickly most cylinder locks fail, and they’re eye-opening,” continues Gareth. “That’s why we’re selling Ultion as standard.”

The videos are available to watch online at www.solidor.co.uk/solidor-tv.  They show that a burglar can break into a real home ‘protected’ by the most commonly used locks in the industry in just 9 seconds, while Ultion keeps homes secure.

Ultion has achieved Sold Secure Diamond having passed a series of ‘real life’ tests carried out by trained locksmiths. Ultion also has TS007 3*.

Brisant Secure CEO Steve Stewart says: “Our videos were watched 779 times during their first day online! They show how insecure most homes fitted with most cylinder locks really are. Based on the three locks that are ‘real life’ tested in the videos, most doors can be categorised as 9 second doors, 18 second doors or 45 second doors depending on the security they provide. Solidor with Ultion as standard means the homeowner gets real life security. Solidor’s customers can be sure homes are secured by a cylinder that provides protection against burglars. Ultion really does keep the bad guys out.”

“Our customers sell real security to homeowners,” adds Gareth. “Solidor is the best door with the best lock.”
