It seems 30 is the magic number for us at the moment – not least because Window Ware celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year, but also because we have a trio of team members who have clocked up three decades with the company between them. Vas Lazarevych, Karen James and Alan Carvell have picked up their 10-years long service award having each spent a decade working hard to build the extensive know-how needed to expertly champion our partner brands and deliver the high levels of service our customers have come to expect.

Karen and Vas (pictured centre and left) are an integral part of the purchasing team, helping to manage and order stock so we can turn around customer orders as quickly as possible. Vas focuses his time on processing special orders for items we don’t routinely stock on the shelves. Though he began his Window Ware career in the warehouse, Vas worked his way through several roles, eventually moving to the purchasing department last November. In his spare time, Vas enjoys travelling and often returns with his two boys to his home turf, the Ukraine, to visit family and friends.

Karen primarily deals with our suppliers in China and other far afield countries for products with longer lead times. She was originally taken on under a temporary 6-week contract. Eight months later she was still here and that temporary role had turned into a permanent position in the purchasing department. Before Window Ware, Karen spent 7 years co-ordinating IT projects for Computer Sciences Corporation and built broad business experience by temping. This busy lady splits her spare time between building her new home, looking after her horse (Monty) and helping with her partner’s drag racing hobby!

Alan Carvell (pictured right) is one of Window Ware’s roaming area sales managers. He looks after our account customers in the Midlands, Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Warwickshire, helping to grow the business, provide product advice, demo new ranges and fix technical issues. With over 30 years’ experience in the fenestration industry, Alan’s customers can rest assured his support is backed by a wealth of expertise and knowledge. At home, Alan is a keen gardener. He enjoys tending his garden pond and numerous fish, including some prize koi, which his three pampered pedigree cats thankfully ignore.

Managing Director, Samantha Nuckey remarks, “We hope these long service awards show Vas, Karen and Alan just how much they are valued by the company. Window Ware is committed to creating a safe and positive working environment, and we work hard to develop and retain great staff who, in turn, deliver first-class service to our customers and make skilled advocates for the brands we represent. We’d like to think that make this a great place to work and gives employees ample reason to stick around!”
