Job Position: Technical Trainer

Job Description:

This is an exciting new role for a Technical Trainer with GQA – the Fenestration Industry’s only qualifications writing and awarding and overseeing the correct delivery of industry specific qualifications.
The Technical Trainer will have input into the technical development of qualifications and practical training and will be a key contact for a network of 70 Approved Centres delivering qualifications and practical training across the UK.
The successful candidate will come from a Fenestration background and will have experience of either Training, QA or Assessing. Most important – they will have a passion for training and developing people – with a willingness and appetite to develop their own career and expand their skills at the same time.
This role is ideal for someone interested in joining a highly professional body with wide-ranging potential for career progression.
The position is based in Sheffield and will appeal to someone who can commute to the area daily – with occasional travel required to meet the needs of the role.

Key Areas of Responsibility
• To answer technical enquiries from industry, clients and potential clients on all aspects of GQA qualifications and related activities
• To oversee the development and delivery of fenestration related practical and online learning packages
• Support the external quality assurance activities of the Awarding Body’s Technical Team.
• To develop and deliver GQA CPD events
• To represent GQA at events, forums and workshops
• To promote knowledge of GQA products and services

The ideal candidate will have:
• Substantial experience in the Fenestration Industry with knowledge of supporting/related industries
• Knowledge of competence based qualifications
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally
• Ability to work with people at all levels including recognised centres, External Quality Advisors, assessors, qualification candidates, strategic organisations and regulatory authorities.
• You will be confident, articulate and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
