Job Position: Assessor – North East England

Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assessor to join our team. The role is home based responsible for the North East area. Working on a full time permanent basis the successful candidate will receive a competitive salary along with a company car.

Our purpose is to work with the domestic fenestration and construction industry to ensure building work and window installations meet required standards.

About the Assessor role

To assist in assuring that installation and building work is completed competently and to our client’s standards. The post holder will be:
• working effectively with installers and builders to ensure installations and small building works meet applicable building regulations and client’s specification.
• performing off site assessments of company competence including auditing key documentation
• working with site personnel to develop good customer relations and promote the value and benefits of working in partnership with FENSA and RISA.

RISA Assessor roles are home based and due to the nature of these roles, a full UK driving licence is essential and you must live within the advertised assessment area. The Assessor role may involve climbing ladders and working at height.

Our ideal Assessor

You can demonstrate extensive experience onsite during the domestic window and door installation process and understand key building stages and knowledge of most building trades. Your knowledge of domestic installation work should be backed up by a relevant NVQ, HNC, HND, C&Gs or equivalent, however training can be offered to the successful candidate.
A focus on quality and keen interest in personal development, keeping up to date with industry standards and improvements are key attributes. You should be able to gather and analyse information to support decision making. In additional to your technical expertise you must be able to demonstrate a consultative approach with the ability to build rapport, establish credibility and build effective relationships with customers and colleagues.

Your ability to tailor your communication style to suit the audience will enable you to influence and deal with conflict or disagreements in an assertive manner whilst maintaining your position as a trusted adviser onsite. You will have good written communication skills, be able to produce accurate reports and have good IT skills.

The typical background for a RISA Assessor could be Surveyor, Installation Manager, Building Control Surveyor, highly experienced Installer, experienced General Builder or similar).
