Today was a very special day for www.doubleglazingblogger.com as it reached a very special milestone. For the first time inside a calendar month the site reached and then passed the 10,000 visits mark!

I thought I was going to reach that mark back in November 2012 when the site managed to peak at 9901 visits, just 99 short of that magic 5 figure mark. But this year has seen the strongest start for the site so far, and looks like the month might just see the site hit the 11,000 visits mark before it’s out.

To all you out there a stat like this will mean very little, but to me it carries a certain significance. The site is approaching 5 years old. Somewhere in the middle of March I think. Each year the site has grown and I have set myself various half-serious targets. I have always tried to let the site grow naturally so to finally break into the 5 figure mark for the number of visits in a month gives me a sense of pride. It takes a lot of effort to keep writing something every day like I have for the past couple of years, but I still enjoy doing it and I like reading the comments you all send in on a daily basis.

I owe you all a very big thanks for continuing to read my daily tripe and encouraging others through Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn to have a gander as well. It is all greatly appreciated!

I’ve set myself a couple of long term targets this year. The first is for the site to reach 100,000 visits. All being well, if traffic remains as it is, the site should pass this. The second is a bit of a big ask. I’d like the site to pass 200,000 page views this year. At the current average it would reach 210,892. But this figure will change as the summer months tend to be quieter for traffic than winter months.

Whether I reach these targets is irrelevant in a way, I am just glad that the readership of the site is expanding and that people keep coming back to read what I have to say!

Thanks again!
