MyTradeTV has announced that Michael Gannon will be joining its team as Editor from Monday, 3 February, 2014.

Speaking about the move, Lee Clarke, Managing Director, stated: “We are delighted to have Michael on board. He has a wealth of experience, not only in the glass and glazing press but in other sectors of the trade press. This appointment shows that we are serious in making MyTradeTV the leading force in the trade media sector.”

Michael Gannon joined the building press over 30 years ago on Builders’ Merchants News, moving on to Heating, Ventilating & Plumbing. He has also been Editor on Highways and Building & Facilities Management for the Public Sector.

He is well known in the fenestration sector, having been Editor (twice) on Glass and Glazing Products and Fenestra Journal. He has the reputation of going behind the spin and PR gloss to the heart of stories; a rare occurrence these days.

Talking about his appointment, Michael said: “There is a desperate need to produce editorial quality of the highest standard but very few publishers do anything but pay lip service to it. I’m confident that we will be able to achieve this with MyTradeTV with its very special platform of video channels and topical news that I will be responsible for. It’s a challenge that’s well worth fighting for and I can’t tell you how much I am looking forward to working as part of a team that will shake up the rather staid and predictable trade press world.”
