In the background of DGB I am quietly working on expanding the site and the areas it covers. There are many areas and sectors that are involved directly or indirectly with the UK fenestration sector, and they all matter. So over time I do want to expand DGB to cover these areas.

A little while ago I wrote about how I was working on three new areas to help me expand DGB and pull in visitors from other areas where I might not have in the past. These were DGB Guides, DGB Sites and a revamp of DGB Consumer. The former of those three went live not so long ago, and you can click here to see what that’s all about. The other two are still under construction and are running a bit behind. In all likelihood they will both be launched near the end of this year.

But I have also been creating a little new area of DGB, which you might have seen appear in the menu at the top of your screen, and that is DGB Business.

DGB Business – a bigger part of DGB

Although not yet a huge part of the DGB ecosystem, over time this is an area that will grow. And it will grow because the world of business, domestically and globally, is having a bigger and bigger influence on the UK glazing sector, so it only seems pertinent to cover the world of business, but specifically from a UK fenestration perspective.

This will be an area of DGB that will be dedicated to posts and new content that takes a business orientated focus. Right now I am completely and utterly drowning myself in everything business. That means watching business TV channels like Bloomberg and CNBC. Reading a lot more business-focused articles and reports. Downloading apps that cover things like stocks, futures, commodities and currencies. I already have A-levels in business, so I do already have a good grasp on how the business world works. But I want to educate myself even more, so that I can commentate on business and fenestration with even more confidence and authority. And away from that, the more I know, the better I can run the businesses I’m involved with, and be proactive instead of reactive.

I also hope that DGB Business will become a place over time where UK glazing sectors can come to gauge a sense of the market, get some perspective and of course leave comments and engage in industry discussion.

DGB Business

Future major stories

I will continue to write daily posts in the main DGB area on the front page and the full blog section. That won’t change. But I will also start to write exclusive content that will only be available on DGB Business.

You can explore DGB Business by clicking the banner above, or the tab at the top of the page on the main menu.

There are some major business stories that are coming up in the short, medium and long term that will focus heavily on DGB Business. We have the UK election coming up in just a few days, and that is certainly not a done deal. The polls are still tight, and markets all over the world are in full sell-off mode, hedging their trades just in case Donald Trump pulls off the unthinkable.

Brexit will of course continue to dominate domestic business and politics for the next two to three years, and you can keep up to date with Brexit stories with UK glazing perspective on DGB Business and DGB Brexit.

So, I hope you enjoy exploring this new area of DGB, and of course all comments on this and all other posts are welcome via the comments section below.
