As I’m sure you’re all aware, thanks to the barrage of social media and email newsletters we’ve been sending out, there’s only six days left in which to vote in this year’s National Fenestration Awards.

It’s been another phenomenal year for the NFAs, with continued user expansion. We have now passed the 3000 unique registered users mark. The current tally to me knowledge is that have nudged passed the 3100 mark. That makes the National Fenestration Awards the most engaged awards the industry has. Something I’m very proud of.

So, before I tell you why you should be voting, here’s a few figures to chew on.

Facts, stats and state of the race

Surpassing 3000 registered users during the 2016 campaign was one of my own personal targets. So to pass it with time to spare is a great achievement. It’s also a signal that the NFAs continues to have a strong pull. The fact that new people and companies are signing up even into our fourth year is a positive sign about the awards’ longevity and future.

Last year, we had over 3600 votes decide the winners. With a growing user base, I am expecting to pass that with ease. I can the see votes personally, and the numbers already look very good. And as we head into the final few days, we will get our usual end-of-campaign rush with companies doing all they can to help persuade people to give them their votes.

We’re also in our last monthly Cool Wall, which has been proudly sponsored by Liniar for the past couple of years. The quality and standard of the projects uploaded this year has been phenomenal. A true advert for the high quality and professional side to our industry. Each of the 2016 monthly winners will go into our Wall of Winners end of year decider, where the industry will have their chance to vote to decide the coolest project of the year. There are 17 award categories separate to this, but this is a very special title to win, given the quality of the competition.

Although I cannot say much at this time, the one thing I can say is that many of the categories remain too close to call. For many, a few votes will swing it one way or another. In some categories in some previous years it has been possible to tell who might come out on top at this point. This year, mirroring other memorable votes in the wider world, it’s too close to call.

This is why every single votes counts.

Why it’s worth voting

It’s been great to see so many finalists taking to social media and email to encourage others to get involved with the voting. So for that great effort alone it’s worth you taking a minute to be part of an awards that is changing the way the industry rewards the very best people and companies.

Moreover, this is the only independent awards our industry has. I run the NFAs with three other people, and not a single one of us has anything to with deciding on the winners. Shortlists and winners are decided purely by industry involvement. Whoever wins is down to you guys. It’s the most inclusive, honest and transparent way we can award our fantastic sector. In my eyes anyway.

So if you haven’t already, click here to register on the site. Remember to click the link we send you in your confirmation email, and then you’re set to go. If you’re already registered you can skip that bit and login in and get stuck in straight away.

This year’s winners and main sponsors will be treated to a brilliant day’s driving at Oulton Park Race Track, where a number of performance cars will be put through their paces by the winners and sponsors. There’s amazing food, a great relaxed atmosphere, excitement around the cars and a very nervous me wafting about the place making sure everything is going smoothly! There is then an evening event which takes place to hand over the trophies to the 2016 winners. We’re planning on this being one of the biggest and best parties for our industry. It will be open to absolutely everyone in our industry to attend, not just the winners, so once we announce the date of the 2016 Winners Event I want to see as many of you possible that evening. Even better, there’s free food and a free bar. Can’t argue with that! The last Winners Event was described as the best event of the year by some who attended, which was great feedback. We plan on making it even better this year.

That’s it, pledge over. Please spare a minute to get involved if you can. It’s a great platform and the shortlists this year are packed full of great people and companies who would love you to help them win an award this year!
