The steady beat of M&A activity in the UK market continues, with the announcement that NorDan UK has acquired UK-based curtain walling and facade specialists RED Systems. This follows on from a spate of aluminium acquisitions throughout 2025, with more expected during the rest of 2026 and beyond. Below is the press release published on the NorDan website:
NorDan UK has announced the acquisition of RED Systems a UK-based specialist in architectural glazing, curtain walling, and façade systems.
The move marks a significant step in NorDan’s UK growth strategy, strengthening its early-stage design, compliance expertise and building delivery capabilities to expand its market-leading offering beyond high-performance windows and doors into a more integrated building envelope solution.
As the UK construction industry continues to adapt to evolving regulatory requirements and expectations around compliance, accountability and performance increase, the need for more coordinated façade and building envelope solutions has become more pronounced.
By combining NorDan’s expertise in high-performance timber and aluminium-clad windows and doors with RED Systems’ façade capability, the business will offer a more integrated approach to building envelope design and delivery. This aims to support earlier project involvement, improve coordination across systems and reduce risk at key interface points.
RED Systems has established a strong national reputation for delivering aluminium architectural glazing and SFS commercial projects with an expert design, supply and installation service. RED Systems has completed over 500 projects during the course of its 22-year history across the UK on large residential, commercial, education and leisure sectors.
The business is known for its early-stage involvement in projects and its ability to support clients through detailed design coordination and technical delivery, including multiple Building Safety Act gateway submissions.
Set against NorDan’s centenary year, the move reflects the Group’s continued evolution of its capabilities, extending its approach to more integrated and accountable building envelope solutions in response to increasing complexity across the construction sector.
Johannes Rasmussen, CMO NorDan Group and member of the NorDan founding family, also pointed to the shared values underpinning the partnership, noting the strong alignment between the two organisations in how projects are approached and delivered, and the importance of maintaining that consistency as the business continues to grow.
