This isn’t about double glazing, but this is an issue where many people will agree with the content and the sentiments of the post. I know I do. Comments are welcome and encouraged:
Teachers Striking over having to work an extra 6 years for their pensions.
Last time I remember teachers had about 12weeks a year in holiday entitlement, so doesn’t that mean for every 4 years they work they get 1 year off.
So if teachers were working in the Private sector and got the minimum holiday allowance 24 days inc bank holidays off, perhaps people would have a little more sympathy with them.
PS when the teachers go on strike, whose going to pay for the extra child care costs I incur???????????
>That's nothing to do with any strike principles, it's just the typical "me-me-me!" attiude of many parents today. The old 12 week holiday chestnut is a total cliché. Teachers routinely top the tables for the amount of additional hours done (.ie. unpaid overtime). Few 9-5 clockpunchers would swap roles. >Teachers should not be allowed to take a day from a child's education without putting in another one later on. No other employee can bunk off a days work without it piling up for them to do when they get back.
Yet my school – who are having another day off Thursday due to the strike – nay excuse – are not offering one in return.
And whay should the priavte sector tax payer pay for the public sector to retire earier than them? They get more holidays and the trainign days – what a skive- and good pay.

This right is the only thing that stands in the way of employers dramatically altering peoples work conditions with no comeback whatsoever.
