Yesterday on April 4th, the first 22 organizations taking part in the Green Deal were announced. They are:

  • Ampere GDP
  • Anglian Home Improvements
  • BritishEco
  • British Gas
  • CarbonLow Group
  • Carillion
  • Empower Community
  • Enact Energy
  • E.ON
  • Gentoo Group
  • Grafton Group
  • Insta Group
  • Keepmoat
  • Kingfisher
  • Mark Group
  • ReEnergise Finance
  • SIG plc
  • SSE
  • Stroma
  • Toriga Energy
  • Willmott Dixon Energy Services
  • Yorkshire Energy Services

One of the stand out companies in that list are Anglian Home Improvements. As far as I can tell they are the only significant windows company that has been officially announced as Green Deal providers. Never even knew they were going for it to be honest! But well done!

What is a little bit disappointing is that no other window companies have been included in that list. Maybe it will come in time, but for all the effort the GGF made to have windows included and the fuss the rest of the industry made about being part of it, it is a little disappointing.

But has anyone noticed something? Noticed a couple of companies not on that list? Yep, no Tesco and no Homebase! Last year both brought out their range of windows and doors and most predicted that it was in anticipation of the Green Deal being announced. Well, it’s not happened. Not in this list any way. There is still a fair few months to go before it is launched so plenty of time for them to be included. But for all the effort they made to get in the double glazing market you would have thought they would have been on of the first on the list!
