I can report good news! Last week I reported about the Devon company Launa Windows going into administration. Well this week I can report that they have now been bought, and been bought as a going concern!

The company who has made the purchase is Bristol based Britannia Windows. They have bought the business as a going concern, which is extremely good news as this should secure the safety of most of the staff at Launa Windows, for now anyway.

Britannia Windows, according to the BBC website, have said they had been looking to expand into this part of the world, so this seemed an ideal opportunity. There has been no details published as far as I’m aware as to how much the sales was.

This will come as much welcome good news in Devon as it was also hit with the news that Quantal had been bought by Ultraframe and then reports surfaced that Ultraframe was to close Quantal to move everything north up to Clitheroe. So the news that such a long standing company has been saved will be a very big silver lining in what has been a pretty murky cloud for the double glazing industry in the South-West.
