As we were moving into our first home at the end of last year, John Fredericks (based in Huddersfield) were kind enough to do me a very good deal on some new windows and doors for my house. So, as a sort of thanks, I said I would show some before and after shots of my house to show what a difference they have made. So, first things first, the before…
This is the front of my house. I hated the diamond lead, but I hated the old white PVC panel front door even more!
A bit more of a close up of that crappy front door…
Look at that tilt and turn bay with all that diamond lead. Awful.
I didn’t get a picture of the back before the scaffolding went up to sort the fascias out. Also, ignore the knackered old conservatory, I have plans for that later on!
As you can see, there was a bit of work to do to bring it up to my own high personal standards! Also, there is a lot to do to make that conservatory something worth having. I plan to tear it down and start again. I fancy either a Veranda style conservatory or replace the frames and put a new tiled roof on (by Ultraframe of course!) and turn it into an extra room, rather than the streets biggest fridge!

Here are the fantastic new windows and doors from John Fredericks! They have made a big difference to the front of the building.
This is my favourite bit of the outside of the house now. I love my front door, and so does Soph. Very proud!
I can’t describe to you how much of a difference the new windows and doors have made. The old ones were incredibly draughty, cold and looked just awful. Diamond and tilt and turn windows just are not my thing!
Getting into specifics now, the windows are a Halo product from John Fredericks in the Rustique 2 profile. They’re A rated, fully steel reinforced and plain old white. The front door is the Newton which is part of the Suffolk Door range. The colour is Schwarzbraun on white with rectangular triple glazed bevelled units.
They have honestly made a big difference to the heat in the house. The heat loss has been cut dramatically and the look of the property is far better.
