Many moons ago I carried out a poll to find out who was actually visiting DGB. It was at a time when site traffic was really growing, and I thought it prudent to try and put together a patchwork of who was reading demographically.

A few years later, along with plenty more growth and expansion, it’s time to do it again. Below I have created a simple form to fill in. All I ask is if you are a reader of DGB, even if only occasionally, that before you leave you click on the option that best fits you in the window and door industry.

I’m going to keep this live for a while, it will become my pinned tweet on my Twitter feed and my new featured post on DGB. As soon as I think I have garnered enough responses I shall publish the results.

Why am I doing this?

For a number of reasons. Firstly, to satisfy my own curiosity as to who reads this. I know that plenty of installers, fabricators and syscos read DGB. but there are plenty of other niches that visit this site, and I think it would be good to get a more accurate break down of that.

Secondly, if you’re a a company looking to advertise on DGB, it is useful to know what audience is viewing this site. This way you can make a more informed decision as to whether it’s worth it or not.

Thirdly, I can plan my content better. For example, if more fabricators are visiting DGB, I know to create more content for that part of my readership.

One thing I did notice was how many home owners found their way to DGB. Over two thirds were industry related, but I was surprised to see that nearly a third were indeed home owners. If I get similar numbers again, then I will consider re-building the DGB Consumer section again. If it’s going to grow, then it’s worth doing.

So, before you go, remember to leave your response!
